Interview with Starfuckers

Ozzie trio “Starfuckers” have been destroying their homeland with beats, parties and serious misfit behaviour for some time now and I feel that their global success is imminent. An act with attitude AND the goods to back it up is a rare thing, so I can’t see these guys being contained to just one continent....... Can you? Their big room sound appeals to the masses yet contains enough of their own characteristics to make them sound fresh. Watch out Europe, you heard it here first.

Hello Starfuckers! Please introduce yourself....

We be Starfuckers – 3 piece dance music outfit with awesome outfits - from Sydney Australia.

I want you to sell me the Starfuckers brand; what would be your slogan?

There ought to be more dancing.

It is said you must witness Starfuckers in a live capacity before you can truly understand the concept, so what can we expect if we came to your night in Sydney?

A unique blend of hot underground music mixed with cheesy commercial remixes and Disney theme songs, in a nightclub you’ll find hard to forget – on a night you’ll probably never remember.

Your recent single “One Night” with miracle is a bit of a banger and the video seemed to spread the Starfuckers gospel. Was it a lot of fun and do you feel they are an important aspect for a release in the current EDM world?

Working with Miracle was amazing; he brings the talent and swag effortlessly. The making of the clip was equally as fun because we got a chance to involve a lot of our loyal fans and basically have a party with them… We loved the aspect of having people in our clip that actually come to our parties and shows on a regular basis, there’s something authentic about it that’s very rewarding.

If I could wave a magic wand and arrange for any vocalist to do a new single with, who would be top of the list? 

Barry White. Imagine the bass response. 

You three guys out and about touring must be a lot of fun? Who out of Starfuckers is the most Rock N Roll?

None of us. Hotels have often complained of how clean we’ve left the rooms. Trent is always the man with the spray and wipe.

What’s the strangest thing on your rider?

Industrial sized fan for blowing hair back during photo opportunities.

You have also just launched a new podcast series, how do you intend on standing out from the podcast crowd? 

Anyone who knows our old mixtapes knows how fast paced our mixes are. This is not a place you’ll find the playing of songs in their entirety. We try to treat our mixes as having their own personality – something you can listen to before going out, that will get you in the mood. For whatever.

If I could get the entertainment Gods to grant Starfuckers one wish on Christmas day, what would it be any why?

We’d love to have the opportunity to do an overseas tour – to check out how the various scenes are progressing in different countries. Also, one of those giant exercise balls for the studio. Yeah, that.
